if your forehand is your weapon side — chose wisely and run the shot around and play big offense
to fight off the jam– pull the lead foot away from the body and pull the hitting arm in– trying to create room to hit
on the backhand preparation get the elbows in — get a tight coil
on the high incoming ball –still get the racquet below the flight path and hit up on the shot
if you jump on the hit maintain core balance
on the 2 handed backhand finish I like- both elbows up and the racquet’s bottom label up to the sky
on your forehand rotation keep the non hitting hand on the racquet — it helps compact the shot
after you finish your hit — move and reposition — assume your shot is in and move to get ready for the next shot
on the return start some players like to have one foot in front — a runners start
on the serve–keep your eyes up and see the hit
you want to track the ball all the into the center of the racquet- into the W
jump to get the ball at a better hit height– Rios and Safin were some of the first to master this
here the gather is in the middle–lots of choices — pick one as part of the serve ritual
you must have a gathering pause after the bounce– i am a big fan of the low gather
on the forehand side for extended range the slice shot is used — often called a squash shot
