I arrive to Centre shortly before Djokovic and Goffin walk on Court. Good equal rallies between them and Goffin breaks for 4-3. Novak then takes the next 11 games for a bagel and 2-0 in the third. At 3-1 Novak saves three break points before coasting to a 6-4, 6-0, 6-3 win. Good stuff. Meanwhile, RBA is up two sets to one over Pella on Court 1. There’s a 30 min break before Roger and Kei take the court to wild applause. Kei breaks the opening game and Roger winds up facing 0-2, 0-40, saves that game but despite a couple chances loses the first 6-4. Excellent play from both and credit to Kei for prevailing. Roger roars back, dominating the second for 6-1. Kei gets down 0-30 in the opening game of the third, recovers to 40-30 and holds after three deuces. They both hold until Kei serves at 3-3, 15-40. A 19-stroke rally and serve winner deuce it. Kei eventually loses serve after four deuces and four break points. Fantastic drama and play here. At 5-4 Roger has to save a break point but eventually holds for 6-4. Meanwhile Rafa is serving 6-5 in the first to Querrey and holds for 7-5. The first three games of the fourth are tightly contested but go to serve. Kei gets to 2-2. 15-40 but still holds. They hold to 4-4, where Roger breaks and holds for the match. I’m very pleased because it looks like he’ll play Rafa in the semis. Richard
